Dak Prescott’s right hamstring tore off the bone in a Week 9 game against the Falcons.
The three-time Pro Bowler played eight games before being shut down for the year to undergo season-ending hamstring surgery. The Cowboys limped to a 7-10 finish and missed the postseason for the first time in four years.
Prescott said not too long ago that, despite rehabbing from 2024’s nasty season-ending injury, he could play a game right now if needed.
All eyes were on the Dallas Cowboys quarterback as OTAs began this week under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
Though he has yet to be cleared for contact, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott said he’s making strides in rehabbing his hamstring injury.
“Pretty much can do it all. Feel good,” Prescott said, per ESPN’s Todd Archer.
“Yeah, I think I’m just not cleared for contact, which we’ve got a while for that anyways. Yeah, I’m out there in the team activities, feel good. Just trying to stay that way.”
He said that his season ending in November gave him plenty of time to get a jump on his recovery.
“My offseason started way earlier, so that’s really essentially why I’m ahead,” he said. “On top of working with [director of rehabilitation Britt Brown], working with this training staff, and [Prescott’s personal trainer] Luke [Wilson].”
The Dallas Cowboys’ 2024 season was basically over after Prescott suffered a partial avulsion of his hamstring tendon in a Week 9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The injury required season-ending surgery.
Dak Prescott finished the season with 1,978 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in eight games.
The disappointing season and numbers came right after he signed a four-year, $240 million contract.

Entering his 10th season, Dak Prescott is now the longest-tenured member of the Dallas Cowboys and also the most important.
Prescott, who turns 32 in July, was a fourth-round pick in 2016 and has been everything for the franchise.
Dallas is installing a new system under a new coach, and integrating new players like George Pickens to help out the offense.
All they need is a healthy Prescott.
